Coaches in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference have named Lawrenceburg resident C.J. Penny to the All-KIAC team, according to a news release.

A freshman at Asbury University, Penny joined the Eagle team after the first semester, scoring 15.8 points and pulling down 6.9 rebounds per game. Penny is shooting 55 percent from the floor, according to the release.

A 2009 graduate of Anderson County High School, Penny was a first team all-state selection at Anderson and was named to the Kentucky All-Stars for the summer series against Indiana. He is the all-time leading scorer at Anderson with 2,101 points. However, Penny enrolled at several schools before finding a home at Asbury, where he is coached by another Asbury grad, Will Shouse.

The Eagles finished the regular season with an 18-12 record and were 9-6 in the KIAC. Seeded third in the conference tournament, the Eagles advanced to the semi-finals and were to have played Indiana East in Monday's semi-finals.
