An Anderson County Middle School student was charged with public intoxication March 9 after police determined he was under the influence, according to a report issued by the Lawrenceburg Police Department.
An investigation by office Nathan Doty revealed the student had “huffed” hand sanitizer, according to the report.
Huffing is a term used when a person inhales fumes from chemical substances for the purpose of becoming intoxicated.
The student’s name was not released.
City police also announced the following arrests over the past several weeks.
Keith J. Scalvinia, 46, of Lawrenceburg was charged with DUI following a traffic stop in US 127 Bypass by Sgt. Les Vogt.
Casandra D. Watt, 26, of Waynesburg was charged with reckless driving, DUI, wanton endangerment and trafficking in a controlled substance following a traffic stop on US 127 Bypass by officer Josh Satterly. A passenger in the vehicle was public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in a controlled substance.
Leslie M. Abner, 35, of Lawrenceburg was charged with theft of a controlled substance following an investigation by officer Teddy Melton.
A 14-year-old Lawrenceburg youth was charged with fourth-degree assault and menacing when Sgt. Chad Powell investigated a disturbance on Winning Colors Way.
A Morningside Drive resident reported that his cell phone, valued at $300, was stolen while he was at United Methodist Church on Carlton Drive. Sgt. Chad Powell is investigating.
Anthony S. Woodward, 27, of Frankfort was charged with unlawful taking over $300 following a shoplifting complaint at Wal-Mart. Officer Joe Saunier made the arrest.
Carrie L. Jaynes, 47, of Lawrenceburg was charged with theft of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription for controlled substance not in proper container following a theft complaint on Versailles Road. Officer Jeremy Cornish investigated and made the arrest.
Jeremy Blackwell, 28, of Lawrenceburg was charged with alcohol intoxication and theft by unlawful taking following a suspicious person check in the West Park Shopping Plaza by officer David Patterson.
A compound bow valued at $150 was stolen from the garage of an Indian Trail residence, according to a report issued by officer Michael Corley.
Jeremy R. Starkey, 31, of Frankfort, was charged with theft of a controlled substance following a theft investigation by Sgt. Les Vogt.
Roy L. Waldridge, 18, of Lawrenceburg was charged with disregarding a stop sign and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on Woodford Street by officer Phillip Warner.
Sean M. Lube, 31, of Lawrenceburg was charged with failure to use turn signal, improper start from parked position and DUI following a traffic stop on Commerce Way by officer Josh Satterly.
Emily E. Nowlin, 23, of Lawrenceburg was charged with fourth-degree assault following a disturbance call on Lincoln Street. Officer Joe Saunier made the arrest.
David M. Matheny, 45, of Lawrenceburg was charged with fourth-degree assault following a disturbance on Poplar Drive. Officer Phillip Warner made the arrest.
