Anderson County High School soccer player Abby Prater signed a national letter-of-intent with the University of Indianapolis in a ceremony at the school last Wednesday. Prater is expected to play as a midfielder for the Greyhounds, who compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference of the NCAA's Division II.
“Abby has had a fantastic high school and club career and we are looking forward to her bringing that experience and dedication to our program. We feel that she will have a very positive impact towards our goals and continue to put the University of Indianapolis at the top of the GLVC and the Division II soccer ranks. We look forward to seeing her grow not only as a soccer player but as a person as well,” said Greyhound coach Kiley Cirillo, who signed eight newcomers, including three from Kentucky. Indianapolis finished 4-10-2 last fall.
“She will help them with control,” said Anderson County coach Jason Earnest.
“I wanted to go somewhere that would challenge me to be my best,” Prater said. She also considered Transylvania University and plans to study public relations and marketing.
