“Swing Fore a Cure” Golf Scramble
The “Swing Fore a Cure” golf scramble will be Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at Wild Turkey Trace Golf Course. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Cost is $50 per player or $200 for 4-person team, which includes a meal. Optional mulligans, skirts, kick and throws will be available. Car giveaway for a hole in one donated by Dutch’s Chevrolet-Ford-Mercury in Mt. Sterling. Team pre-registration requested by contacting Griffin Gillis at 502-517-1986 or Wild Turkey Trace Golf Course at 502-839-4029 to reserve a spot in the scramble. (Please specify the cancer victim you will be playing in honor of or in memory of so they can be recognized.) Proceeds go to Relay for Life.
Breast cancer awareness
Shea’s Salon is supporting the fight against breast cancer and you can help. All during the month you can stop in, make a donation of any amount of money and receive a pink hair extension. These are called “pink strands” and are a fun way to show your support for breast cancer research. Stop in for a visit at their new location on Broadway (formerly Anderson Discount Drugs) or call 502-598-3124 for an appointment.
Third annual House of Trees
The third annual House of Trees will take place Nov. 18-20 at the West Park Shopping Center, US 127 Bypass. It will include a three day silent auction. Friday: 7-10 p.m., live music and dancing, hors d-oeuvres and desserts. Saturday: 10 a.m. -5 p.m., entertainment and refreshments; kids get free picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday: 1-5 p.m., live gospel music and refreshments. Admission: $20 Friday, $5 Saturday-Sunday, children 3 and under free. Ticket includes re-entry for following days..
