Magistrates switch health plan to avoid large Obamacare increase

An effort to install scales at the county’s recycling center was put on hold last Tuesday when magistrates tabled the issue due to the absence of vacationing Magistrate David Ruggles.
They also got an inside look at the impact Obamacare will have on county government, its employees and even inmates.
Ruggles, who chairs the fiscal court’s solid waste committee, has spoken in favor of installing scales at the recycling center and charging several cents per pound for those who dump nearly everything but household trash into a compactor there.
