Second half surge pushes Bearcats past Owen

OWENTON – Anderson County used a 9-0 run to open the second half, then went on to register an impressive 67-49 win over host Owen County Thursday night.

Anderson, which improved to 11-4, pulled away from a 25-24 halftime lead to lead 34-24 in just over two minutes. Anderson went on to outscore Owen 22-6 in the third quarter and was never seriously threatened again.

The lead grew to as many as 22 points on two occasions before Owen pulled within 12 inside the final 90 seconds.
