EMINENCE -- Shelby County dominated play early, then held off a furious Anderson County rally to take the 28th District volleyball championship Tuesday night at Eminence High School.
After easily winning the first game of the best-of-three set, Shelby pulled out to a 22-14 lead in game two. Anderson, however, pulled within 24-22 before Shelby put things away.
“We did not have enough people involved in our offense,” aaid Anderson coach Jason McDannold.
Both teams move on to the Eighth Region tournament, set to start Monday at Shelby County. Pairings will be posted online as soon as they become available.
