The 4th District magistrate seat left vacant when Jason Denny was elected county clerk has been filled.
Gov. Steve Beshear appointed lifelong Anderson County resident Buddy Sims to the seat Monday night, according to Judge-Executive Steve Cornish.
Sims, retired from the state’s Department of Agriculture, was Cornish’s top choice for the office.
“He’s a good guy, he really is,” Cornish said Tuesday. “We’re shooting to get him appointed [Wednesday] morning.”
