Disc golfers present Slide and Glide tournament

The Lawrenceburg Disc Golf Association will present the second annual Slide and Glide Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday Jan. 22 at Anderson County Community Park.
Competition will be held in the junior, recreational, intermediate and advanced divisions. Tournament entry fees are $15 per person for all divisions of play. Mulligans are available at three for $5 and an optional ace pool is available for $2.
A portion of the tournament proceeds will benefit the Anderson County High School Disc Golf team.

Reds Winter Caravan to make two stops in area

Local fans of the Cincinnati Reds will have two opportunities to mingle with players and team executives with the annual Reds' Winter Caravan.
The popular event is a chance for fans in the outlying areas of Reds Country to celebrate the 2010 National League Central Division championship and look ahead to 2011.
The Caravan's Western Tour will be in Louisville at Louisville Slugger Field on Thursday, Jan. 27 from 6-8:30 p.m. Scheduled to appear in Louisville are Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman, all-star second baseman Brandon Phillips, Reds' Minor League Player of the Year and Louisville Bats' catcher Devin Mesoraco, pitcher Matt Maloney, Reds' vice-president and assistant general manager Bob Miller and Reds' mascot, Gapper.
The Caravan's Southern Tour will be in Lexington at The Shops in Lexington Center from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30. Scheduled to appear in Lexington are outfielder Jay Bruce, 2010 first-round draft pick Yasmani Grandal, former Reds' pitcher Tom Browning, broadcaster Jim Kelch, Reds' Director of Baseball Operations and General Manager Walt Jocketty, Chief Operating Officer Phil Castellini and Reds' mascot Mr. Redlegs.
All stops open to the public are free, and at each stop the Reds will raffle off two tickets to the 2011 Opening Day game against the Milwaukee Brewers on March 31.
