Student wins WKU scholarship at math contest

Levi Wilson of Anderson County Middle School won a full-tuition scholarship to Western Kentucky University after taking first place individually at the KSPE Capital Chapter MathCounts competition.
Middle School Mathletes from Anderson County Middle School took second place at the competition.
Western Kentucky University awarded scholarships to the top three scoring individuals, with Wilson winning a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to WKU.
Members of the winning team were Levi Wilson, Trulee Gilkison (fourth overall individual), Austin Gabhart and Abram Gettelfinger. Jim Tyler is the coach of the team.
The team will now advance to the state competition to be held in Lexington on March 23.  
Also advancing to the state competition will be R.W. Myles, who placed eighth overall, from the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg coached by Dale Carpenter.
