The owners of Fairgrounds Drive-In got a major shot in the arm Saturday toward getting the restaurant reopened.
A chili supper raised just short of $2,000 to help the Riley family purchase new equipment and supplies to replace items that were destroyed in a New Year’s Eve fire.
“The response was just wonderful, and proves what a wonderful community we have,” said American Legion Auxiliary member Nettie Halvorson, who helped organize the event.
Halvorson said the event drew a large crowd despite cold temperatures and a UK basketball game.
