The woman charged with tying up her 3-year-old granddaughter for up to 16 hours each day has accepted a plea offer instead of going to trial, which was scheduled to begin Monday.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Laura Donnell confirmed that Carolyn Case has accepted a plea deal, but declined to say what the deal is until it is formally signed.
Case is now scheduled to formally enter a guilty plea Dec. 17 in Anderson Circuit Court, Donnell said Monday afternoon. The recommended sentence from Donnell’s office will be revealed at that time.
