A Ford F-350 pick-up truck became engulfed in flames Monday afternoon after the driver pulled off the Bluegrass Parkway to check the cause of a burning smell in the vehicle.
According to County Fire Chief Mike Barnes, two men from Fayette County were traveling westbound at 12:48 p.m. Monday when something started to smell like it was burning.
They pulled off to the side of the parkway, at about mile marker 62, popped the hood and didn’t find anything. Climbing back into the cab of the truck, they pulled off the dashboard cover and the fire flared into the cab.
