While visions of sugarplums will dance through most people’s heads in the coming weeks, Frank Roe has something considerably more important in mind: blood, and lots of it.
Citing shortages during a time when it is typically needed the most, Roe and his wife Patricia are leading the effort to boost donations through the Kentucky Blood Center, and are shooting to collect 100 pints of the red stuff Tuesday, Dec. 14 at First Baptist Church.
“We see the need for it,” said Roe. “It’s getting harder and harder to get people to donate.”
