Unique store offers little of everything

Chris Sayre thinks she has found something of a niche in the Lawrenceburg marketplace, and five weeks ago decided to capitalize on it.
Sayre opened The Variety Store, a retail shop filled with an array of items not easily found — if found at all — in this area.
The former owner of a retail and gift shop in Versailles, the lifelong Anderson County resident said she got her inspiration for The Variety Store while surfing the internet.
That surf revealed that she could purchase closeout and overstock material from retailers such as JC Penney and QVC and stock the shelves of her own store.
“I got online, did some research and thought it might be something that goes over well in Lawrenceburg,” she said. “We don’t have anything like nearby.”
As the name, says, Sayre has a variety of items in her store.
“You can buy a wedding gift, housewares, bedding, home apparel, purses, luggage, candles, rugs and more,” she said. “I offer a little bit of everything.”
The store is located in the plaza near Time Warner Cable. For more information, call Sayre at 585-600-1541.
