A Waddy family has been left homeless after a blaze last Thursday night destroyed their modular home in Harrisonville near the Anderson County line.
Waddy Fire Chief Greg Darst said the no one was at home at the residence of Mike and Pam Delk when the blaze broke out at around 7 p.m.
He said the cause of the blaze has not been determined, but the fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
The home was fully engulfed, requiring the services of three fire
departments, Waddy, East 60 and Anderson County.
Pam Delk said she thinks the fire started in the kitchen.
“That’s what it looks like from the way our kitchen appliances look,” she said.
Delk said the family, who was staying at Best Western in Shelbyville, has insurance.
