Third graders at Emma B. Ward recently presented “Rats,” directed by their music teacher Mr. Smith.
The musical was very entertaining and funny, parents said.
“Rats” is the story of the Pied Piper, who was played by Layne Meade. The town of Hamelin was being taken over by rats and the townspeople called upon the mayor to fix the problem.
The mayor was played by Kennedy Douglas. When asked why he tried out for the part of mayor he said, “It sounded cool and had the most speaking parts.”
