After making sure the correct contestant number had been called, Allie White danced her way to being crowned the second ever Miss ACHS.
When the final results were announced Sunday night, White’s name was called, but with the wrong contestant number. When the emcee called the correct number, White did a little dance — as she promised her family and friends — then accepted the crown and the title.
“It feels really cool to be the second ever Miss ACHS,” White, a junior, said, shortly after the pageant. “It’s cool to know that 50 years from now, my name will still be there as the second Miss ACHS.”
The first Miss ACHS Megan Webb was on hand to pass down the crown to White.
White said she looks forward to fulfilling her duties as the 2009 Miss ACHS, one of which will be riding in the homecoming parade in just a couple of weeks.
After graduating high school in 2011, White said she plans to attend college to major in elementary education, specialize in music and minor in Spanish.
“I’m just grateful,” White said about being chosen the winner from a group of 14 of her classmates.
Other contestants earning honors are Alex Patrick, first runner-up; Ashley Lewis, second runner-up; Chelsea Watts, third runner-up; and Brittany Drieci, Miss Congeniality.
