A female driver, Karen Kerr, 55 of Indiana, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky hospital after her losing control of her vehicle, flipping her car six or seven times before landing in the median.
Kerr was eastbound on the Martha Layne Collins Bluegrass Parkway at about mile marker 52 near the Anderson-Mercer line when she started sliding sideways, Kentucky State Police Trooper Marvin Kelly said Wednesday afternoon.
A witness driving behind Kerr said the Indiana woman hit a culvert, flipped the vehicle six or seven times, and nose dived into the median, police said.
Kelly said he did not know the status of Kerr’s condition or the extent of her injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
Traffic was halted for drivers heading east and west on the Bluegrass Parkway for about 10 minutes, officers at the scene said.
Anderson County EMS, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and Anderson County Fire responded.
