Woodford County Woman's Club - 2012 Spring Garden Tour

The Woodford County Woman’s Club Garden Department will host its 3rd Annual Spring Garden Tour on Saturday May 12th.  The tour will showcase eight private gardens that incorporate formal and casual styles, expansive and compact gardens, in town and country settings.  Included on the tour will be a garden in a park-like setting with stone walls and garden overlooking Elkhorn Creek, professionally landscaped gardens, and an entryway shade garden. Also on the tour will be gardens and grounds of an historic estate, a garden showcasing wild grass plantings, and a garden that includes flowers indigenous to Kentucky.   Perennial, cutting, herb, wildflower and vegetable gardens will all be encountered on this tour as well as flowering shrubs and trees and garden art.  The gardens will be open from 10:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m.  A portion of the proceeds from the tour will benefit the Coats and Shoes for Kids Project for Woodford County Children.  For more information visit our website www.woodfordcountywomansclub.org or call Susan Breaden at 873-3979 or Sara Hellard at 873-5728 or Joy McKenzie at 873-0241.
