The Woodford Theatre will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of “The Odd Couple” on Feb. 2 from 1-4 p.m. and Feb. 3 from 6-9 p.m. at the Falling Springs Recreational Center.
The theater is looking for actors to fill the roles of Oscar Madison, slovenly, easygoing, 35-50; Felix Ungar, the neat, uptight, 35-50; Card playing buddies: Speed, Murray, Roy, Vinnie, 35-50; and the Pigeon Sisters: Gwendolyn, Cecily, 25-35.
The show is scheduled to run April 5-21.
“This classic comedy opens as a group of the guys assembled for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison,” according to a press release from the Woodford Theatre. “And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger who has just been separated from his wife.  Fastidious, depressed and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean-freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as ‘The Odd Couple’ is born.”
Scripts are available at auditions.
Falling Springs Recreational Center is located at 275 Beasley Road in Versailles. For more information, contact 859-873-0648.
