Wrestling: McDaniel leads Mat Cats at Wayne County

The Anderson County High School wrestling team continued its impressive early-season showing, winning four of five matches in the Wayne County Duals, held Saturday.

Chris McDaniel (126 pounds) led the Bearcats with a perfect day. McDaniel scored pins in each of his five bouts. Taylor Logsdon and Alex Swartz put four opponents' shoulders on the mat and won all five bouts. Cody Dillow also won all five of his bouts with three pins.

Anderson whipped Whitley County, 66-17, getting pins from Jordan Barber, Jake Brown, Chris McDaniel, Austin Phillips, Taylor Logsdon, Alex Swartz, Gabe McMichael, Matt Moses and Crockett Cosby.

Wayne County defeated the Bearcats, 51-30 as the Bearcats got pins from McDaniel, Logsdon, Swartz, Moses and Cody Dillow.

Anderson defeated perennially strong McCreary Central with McDaniel, Tucker Pridemore and Mason Baker recording pins.

Anderson routed Letcher Co. Central 72-6 with McDaniel, Phillips, Logsdon, Dillow, Swartz, McMichael, Moses and Cosby all recording pins.

The Mat Cats defeated Scott County, 60-29, with McDaniel, Phillips, Logsdon, Dillow, Swartz, Pridemore, McMichael and Cosby all scoring pins.
