Anderson County High School junior Kara Yeaste has been named second-team all-state in voting by the state’s girls’ soccer coaches. Yeaste becomes only the third Anderson player to receive such a high honor.
Yeaste’s teammate, sophomore Madison Carter was named an honorable mention selection to the all-state team.
A mid-fielder, Yeaste scored 16 goals and had 14 assists for the Lady Bearcats, who spent much of the year ranked in the state’s Top 20 teams. Yeaste’s field awareness was a major factor in the Lady Bearcats’ success.
Yeaste joins April Carbajal, a two-time first-team all-stater and Miss Soccer in 2003, and Sydney Beasley, a second-teamer in 2006, as the program’s only first or second team all-state players.
Carter scored 25 goals and had 14 assists from her forward position.
