  • Relay for Life calendar: 2-15-12

    Upcoming events
    Feb. 25: Wild Turkey Trace’s 3rd Annual Winter Warm-Up, 8:30-11:30 p.m. at Wild Turkey Trace Golf Club, 1450 Fox Creek Road.  Music by the Conch Fritters Band, with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. A prize will be given for most appropriate beach wear (no swimsuits).  Tickers are $15 per person or $25 per couple. All proceeds to benefit Anderson County Relay for Life (excluding cash bar).
    June 8-9: Relay for Life event, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. at American Legion Park. More information to come.

    Upcoming Grand Theatre school matinees
    Feb. 10: Dance Kaleidoscope presents “The Dance Show,” in which dancers explain and perform the elements of dance to a wide array of music. The performance is designed for all grades; it is a one-hour show that starts at 10 a.m. At 3 p.m., the troupe will hold a free master class dance workshop for children ages 9-18. Participation is limited to 30 students and reservations must be made through the Grand Theatre box office at 352-7469.

    Jan. 25: Soup Supper, 5–6 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome. Cost $4 for adults, $2 for children. Menu includes potato soup or chili, cornbread, sandwiches and desserts. All proceeds go to Anderson County Relay for Life.
    Feb. 3: 2012 Relay Kickoff Meeting, 5:30–8 p.m. at Emma B. Ward Elementary School Library. Light refreshments will be served and committee members will be available to assist those needing team information, fund-raising ideas and/or general information concerning “Relay.” Please make every effort to attend.
