Men’s Life Recovery Bible Study begins March 15
Life Recovery, a biblically focused Addiction Recovery Bible study group, will be offered starting March 15 at the Open Hands Food Pantry every Thursday at 6 p.m.
According to leaders of the study, “It’s designed to cover all forms of addiction from food, drugs, gambling, alcohol, pornography, sex, shopping and workaholics.

In a story told by Rabbi Kushner, a group of tourists on an African safari hired several native porters to carry their supplies for them. After three days the porters announced they needed to stop and rest for a day.
They didn’t appear to be tired, so the tourists asked why the need to stop. The porters said, “We are not tired, but we have walked too far too fast and now we must wait for our souls to catch up to us.”

Back in the day, there were “men’s meetings.”
These took place before the regular business meeting, often a couple of hours earlier. Not that the women didn’t have a voice in the business meeting, however; the lion’s share of the decisions were made in these “men’s meetings.”
Such was one of these. Again, as a young minister, it was an eye opening experience. It all began with the normal task of filling the pulpit on an upcoming Sunday, while our pastor was going to be away in revival services.

I was talking with a friend of mine who does some work for me from time to time this week and found out some really interesting information.
I’ve known “Ritchie” for quite some time, yet never really knew a lot about him personally. Out of the blue he tells me how he has spent much of his young life in jail and even federal prison.
I was taken aback about that, and certainly had to ask lots of questions.
