I am a sinner.
I often worry that my own sin is too great for me, and that God surely cannot forgive all of my wrongdoings.
Thankfully, I know that he can and will forgive you and me if we humble ourselves before him.
I enjoy reading the Old Testament books of Kings and Chronicles because I often can see glimpses of who God is.
These four books tell much of the rise and fall of kings of Israel and Judah. One such king was Manasseh, who learned a great lesson regarding God’s great power and his willingness to forgive.

You wouldn’t sign a contract or buy any significant product without doing due diligence to make sure the transaction was valid and the reward equaled the investment, would you?
Yet we place so little significance on “making our calling and election sure,” risking our eternal security.
Many sincere individuals base their salvation on some emotional decision, or feeling, perhaps made as a child.

Let’s have a conversation.
I cannot understand why, for some people, the Bible simply isn’t good enough. After all, God was clear in his warnings about changing or adding to it, and the penalties for doing so are fairly stiff.  
If you’re not aware of God’s warnings or penalties, please read on.  
Now, I have attended church my entire life under the Christian faith.  
My religious beliefs are based solely on the Bible written over a span of roughly 1,500 years, concluding in the first century.  

Sand Spring Baptist holds gospel concert Oct. 23
Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Road, will host a gospel concert on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
His Heart, a male quartet from Mt. Vernon, will be performing. A free will and love offering will be taken. Scott Williams, a member and regular attendee of SSBC, sings bass with His Heart.
