Graefenburg United Methodist Church, located on U.S. 60 at Crab Orchard Road, one mile west of Hwy. 151, recently announced its new pastor is Matthew Kimmons.
“His passion for discipleship and developing leaders within the church is very evident in Pastor Matthew’s sermons and his daily communication with his congregation,” a news release from the church said.

Riding for the Son, the Central Kentucky chapter of Equestrian Ministries International, will host its Third Annual Used Tack and Equipment Sale on Saturday, March 12.
This is the club’s annual fundraiser and all the proceeds from booth rentals will go to charity, according to a news release.
This year’s sale will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 12 at 1340 KY Hwy 127 Bypass in Harrodsburg. The Kentucky Buckskin Association will sell lunch to vendors and shoppers.

I love baseball. I love books. I love books about baseball. Naturally, I was interested in a book about arguably the greatest player in baseball today, Albert Pujols.
The St. Louis Cardinal star has set himself apart from the class in every major area of statistical analysis for offensive production. Scott Lamb and Tim Ellsworth have written a book that certainly makes the case for Pujols’ baseball greatness, but also asserts that for Albert there is something bigger than the game.

Salvisa Christian Church will host a Project Linus Make-A-Blanket Day on Saturday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 pm.
“Come and go as you are able,” organizers said in a news release. “A potluck lunch will be served.”
Those interested in making blankets can bring 1 1/2 yards of fleece of any color or with any characters pleasing to children.
“If you can’t bring any fleece, come anyway,” organizers said.
