    to host Christmas bazaar
    The Friendship Circle of First Christian Church of Lawrenceburg will hold its annual Christmas bazaar Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at the church.
    The bazaar will feature antiques, wood products, wreaths, crocheted scarves and other seasonal crafts for sale.

  • Sorry, Mr. Mayor, being spiritual just isn’t enough

    In a recent article posted in the religion section of the huffingtonpost.com, newly elected mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, revealed that he is among the “religiously unaffiliated” in an effort to quash rumors that he is “an atheist who is against churches.”
    He acknowledged that he considers himself a man of faith. While “I’m not affiliated with any particular church,” he said, “I do consider myself a spiritual person.”

    Glensboro Baptist
    to host Ricky Peach benefit
    Glensboro Baptist Church will be hosting a benefit Nov. 16 from noon to 8 p.m. with all proceeds going to Ricky Peach, who suffered a stroke on Sept. 16.
    The event features soup for lunch and chili for dinner, as well as an auction featuring donated baskets, pies, cakes and other items.
    Gospel singing at the event includes New Vision, The Waldridge Family, Calvary’s Trio, The Adams Family, The Good Ole Boys, The Ruckers and Teresa Curtsinger.
