  • Salvisa Christian plans Advent services

    Advent of Christ services are planned at Salvisa Christian Church, the church announced.
    All services will begin at 11 a.m.
    Second Sunday of Advent is scheduled for Dec. 5, followed Dec. 12 for Third Sunday of Advent. Lessons and Carols are scheduled for Dec. 19.
    Hanging of the Greens was scheduled for Nov. 28.
    All are welcome.

  • Concert planned at Fairview Christian

    A concert featuring the singing group Potter’s Clay is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 at Fairview Christian Church, the church announced.
    The group includes men and women from the Lexington area performing southern and contemporary gospel music, organizers said.
    The group, which has performed for over 14 years, includes Karen McDowell of Lawrenceburg.
    All are welcome.
    The church is located at 1730 Fairview Road, Lawrenceburg.

  • Mount Eden Christian to host community breakfast

    Mount Eden Christian Church will host its annual Community Breakfast on Dec. 11 from 8 to 11 a.m.
    The men of the congregation will prepare the food and Santa might make an appearance, according to a news release from the church.
    The church is located at 12441 Mount Eden Road.

  • Eaton visits ‘church on the lake’

    Campbellsville University alumnus, Dr. Jeff Eaton, traveled from Anderson County to Russell County on Labor Day weekend for his annual guest speaking engagement at the church he founded at Lake Cumberland’s Jamestown Marina boat dock 21 years ago.

  • Fox Creek Christian plans 3-on-3 tourney

    Fox Creek Christian Church will host its annual Thanksgiving Shoot Out 3-on-3 tournament on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Fox Creek Christian Life Center.
    This will be a double elimination tournament with a 15 and under division and a 16 and over division.
    The entry fee is $20 per team and the proceeds will go toward bringing an Australian Junior team to the area in January for a mission opportunity.

  • Glensboro Baptist plans Thanksgiving dinner

    Glensboro Baptist Church is hosting its annual Thanksgiving dinner and pig roast on Thursday, Nov. 25 at noon.
    Meals are available for delivery. Those needing delivery should call 502-839-8290.
    Food baskets are also available.

  • Community Thanksgiving service planned at Alton Baptist

    A community Thanksgiving service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Alton Baptist Church, the church announced in a news release.
    Lee Yates, associate minister at First Christian Church in Lawrenceburg, will be the speaker.
    Leading praise and worship will be worship coordinators Kris Grimes and Angie Woods of Alton Baptist.
     

  • Fellowship Baptist Church to host potluck

    Fellowship Baptist Church on Hammonds Creek Road will celebrate Thanksgiving with a potluck meal on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.
    “Immediately after the meal, we will celebrate the history and future of the church with a pictorial video highlighting many of the people who have played such a huge role in the life of Fellowship Baptist,” organizers said in a news release.
    The community is invited.

  • New Hope offers Thanksgiving meals

    New Hope Baptist Church of Versailles will deliver meals to those in need on Thanksgiving day.
    Call the church at 859-873-1707, to get a home-cooked full Thanksgiving meal.
    The meal and delivery are free, the church announced in a news release.
    The meal will include turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. Dessert substitutions for those with diabetes are available on request.

  • Salvisa Community Thanksgiving Service planned

    The Salvisa Community Thanksgiving Service will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Salvisa United Methodist Church, 305 Main St. in Salvisa.
    The Rev. James Byrd of New Providence Presbyterian will preach.
    A reception will follow the service.
    An offering will be taken for the Mercer County Ministerial Association’s Transient Ministry Fund.
