  • Frankfort church to host madrigal dinner

    The 29th annual Madrigal Dinner and Yuletide Festival at First United Methodist Church in Frankfort is set for Friday, Dec. 3 and Sunday Dec. 5.
    Each night, the madrigal dinner begins at 6 p.m. in the Asbury Hall of Wesley Center. Preferred seating tickets are $20 per person. General seating tickets are $15 each.
    The yuletide festival will follow at 7:15 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary. The festival is free.
    Gift certificates are available.

  • Ninevah Christian to collect for Operation Christmas Child

    Christmas is arriving early in Lawrenceburg, as Ninevah Christian Church prepares to serve as a collection point for Operation Christmas Child.
    Through Operation Christmas Child, Lawrenceburg residents are helping send shoe box gifts this year to more than 8 million children in 100 countries suffering from natural disaster, war, terrorism, disease, famine and poverty, according to a news release.

  • Second Christian to celebrate 140 years

    Second Christian Church will celebrate its 140th anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 7.

    The guest speaker will be Jermaine Wilson from the AME Church in Frankfort.

    The community is invited to attend.

  • Westside Community announces November events

    Westside Community Church recently announced its events and services for the month of November.
    On Tuesday, Nov. 16, the church will visit the seniors at Heritage Hall. Music and worship will begin at 7 p.m.
    A revival is planned at the church on Friday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Nov. 21.
    The Friday night service will begin at 7 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Robinson speaking.
    The Saturday night service will start at 7 p.m. with Bro. Gene speaking.
    The Sunday night service is planned for 6 p.m. with Robinson speaking again.

  • Salvisa Christian sponsors Make-a-Blanket Day

    Salvisa Christian Church will sponsor a Make-a-Blanket Day on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Participants can come and go throughout the day.

    A potluck lunch will be served.

    Participants are asked to bring 1 1/2 yards of fleece of any color or characters pleasing to children, infants to 18 years.

    “If you can’t bring any fleece, come anyway,” organizers said in a news release.

    Blankets go to the Danville Surgery Center, Haggin Memorial Hospital ER, and the local fire department.

  • Fox Creek Christian plans family and friends service

    Fox Creek Christian Church, located at 2020 Fox Creek Road, is holding its annual family and friends service Sunday, Nov. 7.
    “The family at Fox Creek wants to extend an invitation to everyone as part of God’s circle of family and friends for an awesome day of worship and fellowship,” the church announced in a news release.
    Special music featuring great local talent along with some of Fox Creek’s finest begins at 10 a.m.

  • Love Feast Harvest planned for Saturday

    Lawrenceburg’s first-ever Love Feast Harvest, a follow-up to this summer’s Love Feast, is planned for Saturday, Oct. 30, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Lawrenceburg Green.
    Lawrenceburg Green is located at the corner of West Alley and Woodford Street, behind Town & Country Bank.
    The plan for this inaugural event is to have people in more than 100 vehicles passing out candy to little trick-or-treaters from their trunks and tailgates, according to a news release.

  • Church seeks piano player

    Salt River Independent Baptist Church is seeking a volunteer piano player.
    This is not a paying position, according to an announcement from the church.
    “If you have a God given talent and would like to use your talent to God’s glory, then give us a call,” the announcement said.
