    Family Fest planned
    Sand Spring Baptist Church will host a Spring Family Fest on April 27 at 6 p.m.
    Men of all ages are asked to bring a pot of chili for the Men’s Chili Cookoff.
    Ladies are asked to bring a cake for the Ladies Cake Bake Off.
    Children are asked to enter the Cake or Cupcake Bake off.
    There will be cornhole, board games, Lego fun, and more.

    Evergreen Baptist revival set
    Evergreen Baptist Church will host its spring revival at 7 p.m. nightly April 13 to 15.

    I wish to take a slight detour in my feeble efforts to do my homework, and prepare something worthwhile for the readers of this “faith” article.
    Most of this week’s article is taken from a quote from a young pastor that I am acquainted with, and quite amazed by the power of his ministry and  what God is doing in his church.

    Sand Spring Baptist Church
    offers new class for men
    All men are invited to a new Bible study coming soon.
    The study “33 The Series” by Authentic Manhood is about setting men up to live lives of truth, passion and purpose.
    The men will study God’s clear design and definition for authentic manhood. It is built around the life that Jesus modeled in his 33 years on earth.
    The class be offered at two different times — on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 5:30 p.m. The classes begin April 10 and 13.

  • Bible study is Friday at Alton Christian Church

    The Bible study group called Friday Night Alive at Alton Christian Church will present “The Grace Card” movie at 6 p.m. Friday, March 18 at the church, located at 1686 Old Frankfort Road.
    “Everything can change in an instant and take a lifetime to rebuild relationships by extending forgiveness through God’s grace,” organizers said.
    “Come join us for a time of food and fellowship learning about the powerful healing that comes through forgiveness.”

    Beast Feast returns to Sand Spring on March 5
    Sand Spring Baptist Church will host its biannual Beast Feast on Saturday, March 5.
    Tickets are $10 and go on sale Saturday, Feb. 20 at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. Starting Monday, Feb. 22, tickets will then be available at the church office.
    Doors open March at 2 p.m. The program starts at 3:45 p.m.
    Guest speaker is Bro. Terry Cooper of Nineveh Christian Church. Musical entertainment will be provided by Kevin Chilton and KY Spirit.

    Valentine’s Day event set
    at Pigeon Fork Baptist
    Pigeon Fork Baptist Church will have a Valentine’s Day lunch Feb. 14 following the morning worship service that begins at 11 a.m.
    This will be a time to celebrate God’s love and meet the new Pastor Vernon Carpenter and his wife Lois, organizers said.
    The church is located at 5090 Hickory Ridge Road in Waddy.

  • Fish fries on tap at St. Lawrence

    The Lenten season in the Catholic and other Christian churches means a time of preparation for Easter.
    In Lawrenceburg, it also means good food and fellowship at the Friday night fish fries at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
    People from all over Anderson and surrounding counties pack the Family Life Center at St. Lawrence every Friday, except Good Friday, during lent to enjoy Alaskan cod fillets, fried and baked with sides of potato wedges, slaw, baked beans, homemade hush puppies and desserts.
