Rusty Cummins was holding a part of a balloon he found in a field about two miles from his home on the Corinth Road in April 1977. In a plastic sack attached to the balloon fragment was a note asking if the finder would call Carol Nale in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and a religious pamphlet from the Maranatha Baptist Church in Jefersonville. Rusty is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Cummins. The balloon was placed in the front window at the News office.
