  • Grace Anniversary

    Wilma and Marvin Grace of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception Nov. 15 at the Anderson Room at Heritage Hall Nursing Home from 1 to 2 p.m.

    They were married Nov. 19, 1964 at Corinth Christian Church Parsonage.

    The wedding was officiated by Wm. Donald Miller.

    Mrs. Grace, the former Wilma Royalty, is a daughter of Francis Parrott Royalty and Cecil Royalty of Lawrenceburg.

    She is retired from Boone Hardware.

    Mr. Grace is a son of Anna Mae McMichael Grace and Clarence B. Grace of Lawrenceburg.

  • Schell-Snipes Wedding

    Sarah Lynn Schell, daughter of Tim and Janet Schell of Lawrenceburg, and AJ Snipes, son of Alvin and Carla Snipes of Frankfort, were married Oct. 4, 2014 at the Carter House at Lakeview Park in Frankfort.

    The wedding was officiated by Pastor Jerry Montgomery.

    The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her parents.

    Megan Schell, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.

    Veronica Roland, sister of the groom, was a bridesmaid.

    Rayne Nickerson served as the flower girl and Carell Nickerson was the ring bearer.

  • Stratton Anniversary

    Joyce (Sea) and Billy Stratton will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Nov. 12. They were married in 1949 in Anderson County and have four children (Sandy Humston, Wayne Stratton, Anthony Stratton and Tamara Currens), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is retired from state government and he is retired from Square D. They are active First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg.

  • Woman’s Club makes holiday candy

    Members of the Lawrenceburg Pierian Woman’s Club have been busy making candy for the upcoming holiday season, according to a news release.

    For the past several years, the sales of chocolate-covered bourbon balls and buckeyes (peanut-butter balls) have raised funds for scholarships and other community-service projects. Colorful holiday-themed tins containing 12 pieces of either type of candy are $12 for Bourbon Balls and $7 for Buckeyes. Call Fern Edgett at 839-9329 or Maria Cataldi at 598-3173 to place an order.

  • Carlton wedding anniversary

    Mary Ann and Marvin Carlton of Lawrenceburg celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Oct. 2.

    They were married Oct. 2, 1948.

    They have five children Mary Jo Houchins, Rita Adams, Roger Carlton, Marvin Lee Carlton and the late Darlene Disponett.

  • Paden-Steele engagement

    Kim and Burt Paden of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Laura Paden, to Nathan Steele, son of Ben and Ronda Steele of Richmond, Virginia.

    The bride-to-be is a 2009 graduate of Anderson County High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in web design and interactive media. She employed as a web designer. She is a granddaughter of George and Norma Barnhart and Dorthy Paden.

    The groom-to-be earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. He is employed as an audio visual technician. He is a grandson of Pat Kramer.

  • Evans-Hanks wedding

    Cory Hanks, 29, and Michelle Evans, 36, of Lexington were married Oct. 5, 2014 at Waveland State Historic Site.  

    The ceremony was officiated by Eric Bolander of Universal Life Ministries. The wedding party consisted of mutual friends of the bride and groom, Derek (Doc) Feldman of Lexington and Michael Jett of Louisville.
