  • Engagement: Warford-Edge

    Mr. and Mrs. Mark Warford of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Lee Warford, to Casey Lawrence Edge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Edge of Owensboro.
    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Anderson County High School, the University of the Cumberlands and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
    She is currently employed as a law clerk for Chief District Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the western district of Kentucky.
    The groom-to-be is a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School.

    Tim and Janet Schell of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Lynn Schell of Lawrenceburg, to AJ Snipes of Frankfort, son of Alvin and Carla Snipes of Frankfort.
    The bride’s grandparents are Kenneth and Connie Montgomery.
    The bride is an elementary education major at Western Kentucky University and is employed as a resident assistant at WKU.
    The groom is a recreation management major at Western Kentucky University and is employed as a desk clerk at WKU.

    April and Justin Edwards of Lawrenceburg and Boyd Hutchens, Jr. of Sandy Hook announce the engagement of their daughter, Kendra Nichole Hutchens to Christopher Darrin Burkett, Jr., son of Wendy and Christopher Burkett of Lawrenceburg.

    Matthew and Megan Spaulding of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter Mattie Irene Spaulding, born Sept. 9, 2013 at 3:33 p.m. at Central Baptist Hospital.
    Mattie weighed 8.8 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.
    Big brother Malachi, 3, welcomed Mattie home.
    Maternal grandparents are Bill and Marna Bollinger of Lawrenceburg. Maternal great-grandparents are Roy and Mildred Hicks.
    Paternal grandparents are Mitch and Kathy Spaulding of Stanford. Paternal great-grandparent is Dora Spaulding.

  • Birth: Callan

    Christopher and Brittany Callan of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Abby Gayle Callan, born Oct. 21, 2013, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
    She weighed 7 pounds and 7 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Roger and Judy Carlton of Lawrenceburg. Maternal great-grandparents are Marvin and Mary Ann Carlton and the late Howard and Virginia Smith.

    Jonathan and Erin Young of Elizabethtown announce the birth of their son, Braxton Carter Young, born Nov. 21, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long.
    Big sister Peyton, 17 months, welcomed Braxton home.
    Maternal grandparents are Nicholas and Robin Moore of Lawrenceburg. Maternal great-grandparents are John and Sandy Carter.
    Paternal grandparents are the Rev. Darrell and Shad Young of Murray. Paternal great-grandparents are James and Ann Young.

  • Anniversary: Perry

    Herman and Peggy VanMeter Perry of Bagdad will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 3-5 p.m. at the Bagdad Ruritan Club.
    Herman and Peggy were married Dec. 21, 1963 at Centenary Methodist Church in Shelbyville.  
    Their children, Sarah McGee and Chip Perry, invite all friends and family to celebrate with the couple at their reception.
    The couple request no gifts.

    Brandon and Brittany Baxter announce the birth of their son, Brody Michael, born Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at 11:12 a.m. at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 21 inches long.
    His paternal grandparents are Stanley and Brenda Baxter of Lawrenceburg. Maternal grandparents are Jeff and Jill Van Hook of Lawrenceburg. Paternal great-grandparents are Edith Gabbard of Owenton. Maternal great-grandparents are Bob and Fonda Van Hook of Somerset and Vivian and Phil Zeh of Somerset.
