The Stars of the Bluegrass Baby Contest and Pageant will be held July  1 at the Lions Club Shelter at Anderson Dean Park in Harrodsburg.   
Register at the door beginning at 1 p.m.  The event celebrates America's  Independence Holiday. There are divisions for girls ages newborn to 22 years of age and divisions for boys ages newborn to 6 years old. The event is being hosted by the Miss Kentucky Teen America Organization.

Ricky and Courtney Yates of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Adalynn Elise Yates, born May 7, 2012, at St. Joseph East hospital.
She weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Big sister Cailie, 1, welcomed Adalynn home.
Maternal grandparents are Steve and the late Becky Sea of Lawrenceburg.
Paternal grandparents are Ricky Yates, Sr., and Tammy Hayes of Campbellsville.
Maternal great-grandparents are the late Namon and Louise Sea and the late Bill and Eunice Robinson.

Wayne and Lisa Wilder of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Nicole Clarice Wilder, to Wesley Allen Crosthwaite, son of Dean Minnix and Jimmy Crosthwaite.
The bride is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and is employed at the Kentucky Department of Revenue.
The groom attended the University of Kentucky and is employed at Kentucky Retirement Systems.
The wedding will take place June 16, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at Sand Spring Baptist Church.

Bob and Sandy Works will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1.
They were married on June 1, 1962 in Bonita Springs, Fla., at Lee Memorial United Methodist Church. Bob was an active duty Marine stationed at Quantico, Va. Sandy was a stenographer with the Department of Defense Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. After release from active duty, they moved home to Lexington where Bob served with the Lexington Fire department from 1964-1994 and retired as Battalion Chief.
