Local wildlife rehabilitator Robin Thompson, left, of Nature’s Haven, a non-profit wildlife rescue, and Chris and Nicole from Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary greet people at their Burgoo Festival booth. Both rescuers were accepting donations for the care of the animals they receive and bringing public awareness to wildlife rescues. Nature’s Haven primarily receives wild/native/mammals and serves the surrounding counties, while Broadbent travels the state. Nature’s Haven currently has received over 186 animals for 2014.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wise of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Julia LeNora Wise, to William Chad Case, son of Sharon and Tommy Bickers and the late William “Bill” Case, also of Lawrenceburg.
The future bride is a graduate of Transylvania University with a bachelor’s degree in education and has earned two master degrees, one in elementary education and the other in education leadership. She is employed as a third grade teacher at Robert B. Turner Elementary in Lawrenceburg.
Christine Marret, a registered nurse and and licensed massage yherapist, has been certified as a Nurturing the Mother Pregnancy Massage Therapist by Claire Miller Seminars, according to a news release.
This program is approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage Bodywork.
J. Hill and Ruth Ann Hamon of Frankfort announce the marriage of their daughter, Kristen Ruth to Andrew Scott Wooldridge, son of Kim Wooldridge and Scottie and Faye Wooldridge of Frankfort. The ceremony took place May 24 at the Bridgeport Christian Church with reception following at the Frankfort Country Club.
Mrs. Wooldridge is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in psychology. She is employed by Buffalo Trace Distillery as the public relations assistant manager.
