  • Wedding: Caldwell-Cook

    Brandi Lynn Caldwell and Billy Joe Cook Jr., were married on Oct. 13, 2012, at “The Cabin” on North Main in Lawrenceburg.
    Bro. Bob Logue officiated the wedding.
    Parents of the bride are Dude and Donna Caldwell of Lawrenceburg. Parents of the groom are Billy Cook of Frankfort and Regina Cook of Frankfort.
    Grandparents of the bride are Wilma Flygstad and the late Dale Flygstad Sr., Aileen Caldwell and the late James Caldwell.
    Grandparents of the groom are Nathan and Mary Lou Cantrel of Grand Prairie, Texas.  

  • Engagement: Crask-Gomez

    Moises and Maricela Gomez of Brownsville, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Marlene Serrata Gomez, to Major Shane Alvin Crask, son of Garnett and Marcia Crask of Athens, Ala.
    The groom is the grandson of the late Arvin W. Crask and Dorothy Brown Crask of Lawrenceburg.
    The bride is a 2000 graduate of Princeton University and a 2004 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is an environmental attorney and most recently practiced with the law firm of Ballard Spahr LLP in Philadelphia.

  • Wedding: Ward-Bolander

    Jennifer Lyn Ward, daughter of Mike and Ann Ward of Lawrenceburg, and Eric Bolander, son of Kay Bolander and the late Raymond Bolander of Garrison, Ky., were united in marriage Nov. 17, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg.
    Captain Justin Watts, cousin of the bride, and Brother Jerrel Coffey officiated the wedding.

  • Birth: Cummins

    Heather and Aaron Cummins of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Sophia Grace Cummins, born Dec. 19, 2012, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
    She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20 inches long.
    Brothers Bryson, 8, Koplin, 7, and Landon, 6, welcomed Sophia home.
    Maternal grandparents are Brad and Lucinda Inabnitt of Lawrenceburg. Paternal grandparents are Claude and Pam Cummins of Lawrenceburg.

  • Anniversary: Tucker

    Glenn Rose (Vaughn) Tucker and Danny Tucker of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 26.
    The couple was married on Dec. 26, 1962, in Jellico, Tenn.
    Glenn Rose is the daughter of the late Dallas and the late Anna Vaughn.
    Danny is the son of the late James Oscar and the late Katherine Tucker.
    Glenn Rose is retired. Danny is currently employed by Kentucky Stone in Lawrenceburg.
    The couple has two children, their son the late Danny Tucker, Jr., and a daughter Cheryl Tucker Yunt. They have a son-in-law, David Yunt.

  • Anniversary: Perry

    Oneita Moffett Perry and Alvin Huston Perry of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 23 with a reception at the Anderson Senior Citizens Center from 2-4 p.m.
    A judge at the courthouse married the Perrys on Dec. 20, 1952.
    The couple has several nieces and nephews from Harrodsburg,  Georgia and Indiana.
    Oneita is retired, and was employed for more than 40 years with Lawrenceburg National Bank as a teller, vice president and member of the board of directors.

  • Sophomore crowned at Miss Cumberland Falls Outstanding Teen pageant

  • Webb named National American Miss Teen in pageant

    Megan Alisa Webb, daughter of Sammy A. Webb, recently earned the national title for National American Miss for the Teen age division.
    According to a press release, Webb will be traveling across the country this summer representing the National America Miss Pageant Program. She will also receive an all-expense paid trip to the National Pageant in Anaheim, Calif., next Thanksgiving week to crown her successor.

  • Birthdays: Hahn

    Nellion Wells Hahn will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house in her honor on Dec. 16 from 2-4 p.m. in the Fireside Room at First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg.
    Hahn was born Dec. 16, 1922. She is the daughter of the late Cecil and Hester Wells and the wife of the late Gilbert Hahn. She has two sons, Burtice (wife Linda) Hahn of Lawrenceburg and Gilbert Ray Hahn of Louisville.
    No gifts requested, just the presence of family and friends to celebrate this occasion.
