Donald Lee and Mary Jane Cox of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Aug. 29.
Donald and Mary were married Aug. 29, 1963, at the Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in Danville by the Rev. Elroy Lamb. Mary’s mother, Elizabeth Curtsinger and Brenda Rankin were in attendance with Donald and Mary.
Mary is the daughter of Elizabeth Curtsinger and the late Raymond Curtsinger.
Donald is the son of the late Irene Dale and the late Lenious Cox.
Mr. and Mrs. Cox are both enjoying retirement and spending time with each other.
The Gilkerson and Gilkison family reunion will be held Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall on Legion Road in Paris.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.
Reunion organizers ask that attendees bring a covered dish to share and soft drinks of their choice. Utensils, plates, napkins, lemonade and coffee will be furnished.
“Bring your family tree information and anything you’d like to display for others to enjoy,” organizers said.
Keaton Todd, a 16-year-old junior at Anderson County High School, recently qualified to compete with a vocal acoustic performance in the 2013 Coca-Cola Talent Classic Semi-Finals competition at the Kentucky State Fair on Aug. 17, according to a news release.
