  • Wedding: Barrett-Adkins

    Heather Barrett Adkins and Gregory Chadwick Adkins were married June 30, 2012 at the Carter House in Frankfort.
    The Rev. Jim Wheeler officiated.
    The bride’s parents are Bill and Lisa Barrett of Lawrenceburg. The bride’s grandparents are Shirley Hensley and the late Aubrey Hensley.
    The groom’s parents are Kenneth and Debbie Adkins of Lawrenceburg.

  • Anniversary: Carlton

    Curt and Carole Carlton of Lawrenceburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 14, and will be honored at a reception July 21 from 4-6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Lawrenceburg.
    The couple has one son, Glendon Carlton and wife Gina Madden Carlton of Lexington.
    They have three grandchildren, Madelyn, 16, Olivia, 12, and Sophia Carlton, 12.
    Curt Carlton recently retired from the Anderson County Road Department in February 2012. Carole Carlton has been with Farmer’s Bank in Lawrenceburg for the past 27 years.

    Mr. and Mrs. Larry E. Hays of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Jill Hays of Lawrenceburg, to Christopher Thomas Wright of Versailles, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wright of Versailles.
    The bride is a graduate of Anderson County High School and Kentucky State University. She is currently employed as an investigator with the Northern Bluegrass Service Region special investigation team for the Department for Community Based Services.

    Sean Christopher Shouse and Paige Marie Morris, both of Lawrenceburg, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage in August.
    There will be a small wedding held in August 2012, followed by an invitational wedding on July 20, 2013.

    The family of the late Mr. and Mrs. William B. Brown had its annual reunion June 23 at the Fairview Christian Church fellowship hall.

    The family and friends of D.F. and Nannie Hanks held their reunion July 4 at the Anderson County park.

    The bride’s grandparents are Clarence and Doris Underwood.
    The groom’s grandparent is Alvin Hardin.
    The bride is currently employed as an equine surgery technician at Harthill and Priest Equine Surgery in Versailles.
    The groom is currently employed as an estimating manager at Schiller Architectural Hardware in Lexington.

    John and Trish Chaney announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Marie Chaney, to Michael Thomas Woods III, son of Michael and LouKetta Woods, all of Lawrenceburg.
    Grandparents of the bride are Milly and Sam Chaney of Frankfort; Marty and Floyd Aldridge of Frankfort; Sue Bowman and Bruce Walker of Nicholasville; and Barbra Conway of Frankfort.
    Grandparents of the groom are the late Ida and Norman Gudgel of Lawrenceburg; the late Bill Goodlett of Versailles; and the late Meryll and Mary Alice Woods of Harrodsburg.

  • Birth: Smallwood

    Randi Rogers and Stephen Smallwood announce the birth of their daughter, Kylie Grayce Smallwood, born June 18, 2012, at Central Baptist Hospital.
    She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 19 inches long.
    Big brother Brayden, 4, welcomed Kylie home.
    Maternal grandparents are Jim Rogers and Shirley May. Maternal great-grandparents are Lily and Billy Caldwell.
    Paternal grandparents are Tammy and Jeff Smallwood of Lawrenceburg.

    The Friends of the Library is scheduled to meet July 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the library. New members are welcome.
    Friends of the Anderson Public Library meets the second Wednesday of the month at the library at 5:30 p.m.

    Kentucky Road Runners
    to host bike night
    The Kentucky Road Runners, a Frankfort a non-profit motorcycle group, will be hosting Monday bike night from July through October on Brick Alley in Frankfort.
