  • Anniversary: Bailey

    John and Ada Bailey will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children and grandchildren on April 22 from 2-4 p.m. at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Road.
    They were married on April 23, 1962, at Epworth Methodist Church in Lexington.
    John was employed with IBM/LexMark International in 1967 and retired in 1999.
    Their children are John (Debbie) Bailey, Jr., of Lexington; Rebecca (Chuck) Osbourn of Versailles; and Julia (Aaron) Hornsby of Taylorsville.
    The couple resides in Stringtown, Lawrenceburg.

  • Cornish family plans reunion

    A reunion for the Cornishes of central Kentucky will be held June 2 at noon at the Cornishville Fire Station Community Center, located at 4534 Cornishville Road in Cornishville.

    Jill Carney and Tim Cox of Lawrenceburg announce their upcoming wedding on April 14, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. at Fox Creek Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.
    Parents of the bride are the late Sarah Sea Carney and the late Eugene Carney.
    Parents of the groom are Shirley and James Cox.
    The bride is a graduate of Anderson County High School and University of Kentucky’s College of Education. She is currently retired from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority.
    The groom is a graduate of Anderson County High School and he is currently retired.

    Lee and Lindsay Cook of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, David Lee Cook, born on Jan. 9, 2012, at the University of Kentucky.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Charles White and Liz Reid of Lawrenceburg. Maternal great-grandparents are the late Jim and the late Mertie Reid and the late Calvin and Shirley White.
    Paternal grandparents are the late David Cook and Rose Cook of Lawrenceburg. Paternal great-grandparents are the late L.V. Cook and Joyce Cook and the late Jesse Gibson and Elizabeth Gibson.

  • Students compete in Belle of the Blue scholarship pageant

    Freshman Allie White and Senior Megan Webb, both from Lawrenceburg, will compete as one of 15 contestants in the Belle of the Blue Scholarship Pageant, an annual Georgetown College tradition since 1950, held March 31.
    White is an Elementary Education major with a minor in social sciences, and is involved in Sigma Kappa, campus ministries, Maskrafters and choir.
    As a graduate of Anderson County High School in 2011, White was involved in Spanish Honor Society and theater.
    She was also the Lawrenceburg Fair-Miss Teen.

  • Birth: Hudson

    Mitch and Lisa Hudson of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Megan Elisabeth Hudson, born Jan. 19, 2012 at The Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East in Lexington.
    She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 20 1/4 inches long.
    She was welcomed home by her big sister, Emily, 6.
    Her maternal grandparents are Harold and Jane Todd of Lawrenceburg.
    Her paternal grandparents are Darrel and Bitha Hudson of Lawrenceburg.

    The parents of Megan Alicia Foster of Warsaw and Jason Louis “Jay” Holt of Lawrenceburg announce the forthcoming marriage of their children on April 21, 2012, at Fox Creek Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.
    The bride is employed at Bluegrass Stockyards.
    The groom is self-employed.
    The couple plans to reside in Frankfort.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Joseph and Chelsey Bast of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Kolten Bryce Bast, born Dec. 22, 2011, at St. Joseph East.
    He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 19 inches long.
    Big brothers Kendall Blake, 3, and Kayden Layne, 2, welcomed Kolten home.
    Maternal grandparents are Becky Peters of Lawrenceburg and Darrell Peters of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.
    Maternal great-grandparents are Robert and June Raymond, and the late Bill and Rose Peters.
    Paternal grandparents are Ricky and Angie Bast of Lawrenceburg.

    Ginger and Brandon Warren of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Max David Warren, born Dec. 27, 2011, at Central Baptist Hospital.
    He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 and 1/2 inches long.
    Big brother Luke, 3, welcomed Max home.
    Maternal grandparents are Jerry and Regina Shely of Lawrenceburg.
    Paternal grandparents are Larry and Brenda Warren of Campbellsville. Paternal great-grandparent is Nancy Humphress Dixon of Knifley, Ky.
