Davis and Mary Jane Cox Briscoe and Roy and Velena Gash Harley will both celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries with a joint reception on Dec. 4 from 2-4 p.m. at Sand Spring Baptist Church.
The Briscoes were married Dec. 2, 1961, at First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Hugh White.
The Harleys were also married Dec. 2, 1961, at Kirkwood Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnny Meadows.
The reception is hosted by both couple’s children, grandchildren, friends and family. Everyone is welcome.
Both couples request no gifts.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harley of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Dec. 11.
The couple was married Dec. 6, 1941, by Bro. Paul Horner at the parsonage of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg.
The Harleys have four children: Bro. James Harley of Harrodsburg, Jewell Harley of Lawrenceburg, Barbara Markwell of Lawrenceburg, and Janet Cornish of Lebanon. They have nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.

She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 inches long.
She was welcomed home by her sister Carrington Paige, 11, and her brother Cayden James, 7.

Todd and Amy McKenzie announce the birth of their daughter, Emily Marie “Emmy” McKenzie, born Oct. 17, 2011, at the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Ft. Campbell.
She weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long.
She was welcomed home by brother TJ and sister Annie.
Maternal grandparents are Michael and Betty Wooldridge of Lawrenceburg.
Paternal grandparents are Jerry and the late Darlene McKenzie of Paintsville.
Samantha D. Meeks and J.R. Liles announce the birth of their son, Floyd Wilson Robert Dean Meeks, born Sept. 7, 2011.
He was 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Floyd was named after his father, grandfather, two great-grandfathers and two great-great-grandfathers.
Wallace B. Cardwell, a 20-year Navy veteran, will celebrate his 65th birthday Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
