    Richard and Elizabeth Wash York of Lawrenceburg and Alan Fryar and Carol Ruthven of Lexington announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Katelyn Elizabeth York and Michael Edwin Fryar.

    The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of Jim York and Ruth Herndon of Lexington and the late Vicki Shelburne York and Dr. Lewis Wash and Doris Wash of Lawrenceburg.

    She is a 2009 graduate of Anderson County High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she received a Master’s of Arts in education.

    Hailey and Nathan Doty of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Olivia Kate Doty, at 1:43 p.m. on April 17, 2014 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    She was welcomed home by her brothers - Gabriel, 11, Zach, 10, and Trevor, 5.

    Her maternal grandparents are Leesa and Bruce Stevens of Lawrenceburg and Rodney Samuels and Sunnye Smith of Lawrenceburg.

    Ashley Lewis and Dustin Graybeal of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Ashtin Karter Graybeal, at 8:07 a.m. on Jan. 21, 2014 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 and 1/4 inches long.

    His maternal grandparents are Charlene and Kevin Lewis of Lawrenceburg.

    Her maternal great-grandparents are Irene and Robert Scrogham, David and  Gloria Lewis.

    His paternal grandparents are Debbie Morrow and Ricky Graybeal of Lawrenceburg.

  • Sharp 65th

    Elgeather and Clarence Sharp Jr. will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Wed., May 28, 2014.

    They were married May 28, 1949 by Rev. M.H. Irvin at the Claylick United Methodist Church.

    Mrs. Sharp, the former Elgeather Davenport, is the daughter of the late Doran and Bertha Davenport of Salvisa.

    Mr. Sharp is the son of the late Alpha and Clarence Sharp of Taylorsville.

    They have two children - Wesley Sharp and his wife, Johanna, of Versailles and Patricia Sharp of Somerset, Ky.

    The bride-to-be is a 2009 Anderson County High School graduate and a 2013 Transylvania University graduate. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with the University of Kentucky.

    Ashley and Jackie Smith of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Rylee Cole Smith, on April 21, 2014 at 8:26 a.m. at Frankfort (Ky.) Regional Medical Center.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 15.5 ounces and was 18 inches long.

    She is welcomed home by her brothers Austin, 14, Jackson, 8 and sister Carlee, 3.

    Her maternal grandparents are Bill and Pam Cole of Lawrenceburg.

    Her maternal great-grandparents are Warren and Shirley Ivey of Lexington, Rollin and Jeanette Cole of Lawrenceburg, and the late Jimmy Wright.

  • Mitchell 50th

    The family of John and Berneice Mitchell will host a reception to celebrate John and Berneice’s 50th wedding anniversary.

    The anniversary will take place at Antioch Christian Church in Willisburg, Ky. from 5 p.m.– 8 p.m. Sat., May 17.

    They were married May 16, 1964 in Clintwood, Va.

    Berneice is a retired teacher.

    John is a retired bus driver and IBM employee.

    Berneice’s parents are the late Robert Drury and Faye Drury of Willisburg.
