  • Sierra Jo Robinson

    Amber and Jason Robinson of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Sierra Jo Robinson, on April 29, 2011, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
    She weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long.
    She was welcomed home by sister Savannah, 6.
    Her maternal grandparents are Glenn and Jo Carol Nethery of Lawrenceburg. Her maternal great-grandparents are Truman and Lorine Nethery of Lawrenceburg and James Smith of Bowling Green.

  • Local student selected for Pre-Teen Kentucky

    Shandi Puckett, daughter of Chris and Kim Puckett of Lawrenceburg, has been selected as a finalist in the Pre-Teen Kentucky Scholarship and Recognition Program held July 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington at the Lexington Center.
    Pre-Teen Kentucky is a by-invitation only scholarship and recognition event involving young ladies 7-12 years old based on their school academic records, awards and honors won and/or their participation in outside activities. Pre-Teen Kentucky will award more than $5,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards.

  • Donna (Brown) and Junior Beasley

    Donna (Brown) Beasley and Junior Beasley plan to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary June 11 with family.
    They were married June 11, 1971 in Shawnee, Ill.
    Donna is now retired from working at Toyota Manufacturing and Junior is retired from Wild Turkey Distillery.
    Their children are Adam and Lauren Beasley and grandchild Noah, Lawrenceburg; and Jonathan and Tina Beasley and grandchild Jameson, Lawrenceburg.

  • Dressed up for a good cause

    Recently, the local Rite Aid store hit a personal best of raising more than $1,700 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
    The local hospital that receives this money is the UK Children’s Hospital. The store hit this milestone through the generosity of all the community and a sizable donation from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 34 in Lawrenceburg.
    When Melissa Dotson, owner of Custom Cuts Hair Salon located next to Rite Aid, heard of the fundraising efforts, she sprang into action and contacted her fellow American Legion colleagues.

  • Sharon and Michael Parker

    Sharon and Michael Parker of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Lawrenceburg, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, May 12, 2011 at the Wyndham Fairfield Harbour Windjammer Villas in New Bern, N.C.
    This was a special anniversary celebration as Michael had a double-lung transplant six years ago at Cleveland Clinic. This made the celebration even more special to the Parkers, according to family members.

  • Engagement: Goodlett-Hawkins

    Wayne Goodlett and Phyllis Townsend of Lawrenceburg, and Peggy Hawkins of Willisburg and Fielden Hawkins of Shepherdsville, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Bethany Lynnette Goodlett, of Lawrenceburg, and Brock Fielden Hawkins of Willisburg.

  • Bob and Darlan Renner

    Bob and Darla Renner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 8.
    They were married on April 8, 1961 in Greencastle, Ind. They have three children: Steve Renner and his wife Vicki of Greenwood, Ind., Rhonda Davis and her husband Don of Yorkville, Ill., and Scott Renner of Cloverdale, Ind. They have eight grandchildren.
    A reception in their honor will be held at Sand Spring Baptist Church on June 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

  • Ralph and Alma Warford

    Ralph and Alma Warford will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary June 5.
    Ralph said he knew she was the girl for him when he saw her coming out of a picture show in Versailles with curlers in her hair and a yellow scarf. They tied the knot at the courthouse in Versailles a few short years later, June 5, 1951.
    They have two children, Debbie Steele of Lawrenceburg and Donna Robinson of Versailles.

  • Thomas Allen Hawkins

    Thomas and Terri Hawkins of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of a son May 6, 2011, at 9:11 a.m. at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
    Thomas Allen Hawkins weighed 3 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 15 inches long.
    His maternal grandparents are Randy and Virginia Soard of Versailles
    His paternal grandparents are John and Kathy Hopper of Lawrenceburg.

  • Jake Austin Glasscock

    Amy and Jimmy Wayne Glasscock II of Lexington, announce the birth of a son March 29, 2011, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
    Jake Austin Glasscock weighed 9 pounds and was 21 1/4 inches long.
    He was welcomed home by sister, Shelby Alexis Glasscock, 5; and Colton Chase Glasscock, 3.
    His maternal grandparents are Mike and Dianne Sparrow of Lawrenceburg.
    His paternal grandparents are Jimmy and Judy Glasscock of Perryville, and  paternal grandmother is Beulah Glasscock, also of Perryville.
