James and Janet Lowery of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Lexington, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Dowling Hall in Lawrenceburg.
The couple has three children, James Allen Lowery II and wife Teresa Browning Lowery of Willisburg; Jason Franz Lowery of Lexington; and Junisha Alene Callis of Lawrenceburg.
The couple has five grandchildren: James Allen Lowery III, Collin Dailey Lowery, 15, Colton Prentice Callis, 15, Shelby Annemarie Lowery, 11, and Jan Anniston Lowery, 7.
Laura Watson Meade and Bobby Meade of Lawrenceburg celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary July 17.
The couple was married July 17, 1982 in Lexington.
She is retired from state government.
He is retired from both state government and the University of Kentucky.
Their daughter is Sarah (Jonathan) Cummins of Lawrenceburg.
Their grandchild is Zachary Cummins of Lawrenceburg.

Western Hills High School and Franklin County High School classes of 1982 will hold reunions Aug. 3-4.
The Aug. 3 event will be held at 6 p.m. on the Old Capitol Lawn as part of the Frankfort Concert series. The concert series will be followed by classmate Jeff Duncan’s band Thumper and the Plaid Rabbits at the Brick Alley on the St. Clair Mall.
The Friends of the Library is scheduled to meet Aug. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the library.

They have three grandchildren, Madelyn, 16, Olivia, 12, and Sophia Carlton, 12.
Curt Carlton recently retired from the Anderson County Road Department in February 2012. Carole Carlton has been with Farmer’s Bank in Lawrenceburg for the past 27 years.
