The Friends of the Anderson Public Library will meet on Oct. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Public Library. If there is no school, there will be no meeting.
The Friends of the Anderson Public Library meets the second Wednesday of every month.
Anderson Public Library and the Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway’s office will be hosting the Program Senior Crime College on Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Anderson Public Library.
According to a press release from the library, the program will teach senior citizens how to avoid becoming victims of scams and who to alert if they feel they are being targeted.
Lunch will be provided. Space is limited to 30 patrons. Registration is required. Sign up by calling the library at (502) 839-6420 or speaking with someone at the circulation desk.
The Anderson County High School Class of 1987 will hold its 25th high school reunion on Oct. 20 from 6-11 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Convention Center in Lawrenceburg.
The reunion will include a dinner, served with music and “a walk down memory lane,” according to a release from event organizers.
The dinner is $30 per person or $55 per couple. Money can be mailed to: Eagle Lake Convention Center, 1006 Eagle Lake Drive, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342, c/o Jenna Smith.

The Anderson County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Anderson Public Library.
This month’s speaker, Robert W. Myles, will discuss the Dogwalk battle and the efforts of the city of Lawrenceburg in staging its re-enactment. The meeting is free and open to the public.
The Bailey Family Reunion will be held Sunday, Oct. 7 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Franklin County Senior Citizens’ Center, located at 202 Medical Heights Drive, Frankfort (across from the hospital). Abigail Davis and Zachary Holt of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Britley Taylor Davis-Holt, born on Sept. 5, 2012, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
She weighed 9 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 21 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Teresa and Donald Fultz of Lawrenceburg. Maternal great-grandparents are Carol Roysden-Akins and Tommy Roysden.
Paternal grandparents are Jeannie Jaynes and Troy Holt of Lawrenceburg.
The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion National Convention was held in Indianapolis on Aug. 24-30.
This was the 94th National Convention for the American Legion, the 92nd for the Auxiliary and the 41st for Sons of the American Legion.
Attending from Lawrenceburg were Unit President Betty Butler, Vice President Pam Rice and Historian Shirley Thornberry. Post 34 Commander Bobby Thornberry and SAL member Shannon Hubert also attended.
Cynthia Finnell, Talitha McGoff and Erich Steilberg, children of Carolyn and Richard Steilberg, planned a surprise celebration for their parents’ 50th anniversary.
The celebration was disguised as, and included, a family reunion.
The event, which took place Sept. 1 in the park in Lawrenceburg, was announced in last week’s Anderson News as the family reunion, which listed special guests.
The couple was married Aug. 17, 1962.
