  • Springate-Cooker

    Jerry and Betty Springate of Lawrenceburg announce the marriage of their daughter, Scarlett Lynn Springate, to David Cooker, the son of Paul and Carrie Cooker of Cincinnati.

    The bride is the granddaughter of Idell Springate Thurman and the late J.W. Springate. She is also the honorary granddaughter of Donna Gash.

    The ceremony was held May 24 at Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

    The bride and groom are 2009 graduates of the University of Kentucky.

    Lori and Tim Wells of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Josiah Reed Wells, on May 10, 2014 at 11:59 a.m. at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    He weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    He was welcomed home by his sisters - Abigail Grace Wells, 6, and Molly Kate Wells, 3.

    His maternal grandparents are Bill and Vonda Reed of Mount Sterling, Ky.

    His maternal great-grandparents are Herlis and Madeline Cole.

    His paternal grandparents Donald and Rita Wells of Lawrenceburg.

    Cecilya and B.J. Goin of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth Nicole Goin, on Feb. 23, 2014 at 12:34 p.m. at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Her grandparents are Tad and Donna Young of Lawrenceburg and Sarah and John Garvison of Texas.

    The great-grandparents are William and Lucille White of Lawrenceburg.

    Michaela F. Cooper of Casey County and Kurtis M. Forbes of Anderson County were united in marriage May 17, 2014 in Casey County.

    The couple was engaged for around a year and they have a son, Oliver M. Forbes, who was 5 weeks old at the wedding.

    She is a 2009 graduate of Anderson County High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she received a Master’s of Arts in education.

    She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    She was welcomed home by her brothers - Gabriel, 11, Zach, 10, and Trevor, 5.

    Ashley Lewis and Dustin Graybeal of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Ashtin Karter Graybeal, at 8:07 a.m. on Jan. 21, 2014 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 and 1/4 inches long.

    His maternal grandparents are Charlene and Kevin Lewis of Lawrenceburg.

    Her maternal great-grandparents are Irene and Robert Scrogham, David and  Gloria Lewis.

    His paternal grandparents are Debbie Morrow and Ricky Graybeal of Lawrenceburg.

  • Sharp 65th

    Elgeather and Clarence Sharp Jr. will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Wed., May 28, 2014.

    They were married May 28, 1949 by Rev. M.H. Irvin at the Claylick United Methodist Church.

    Mrs. Sharp, the former Elgeather Davenport, is the daughter of the late Doran and Bertha Davenport of Salvisa.

    Mr. Sharp is the son of the late Alpha and Clarence Sharp of Taylorsville.

    They have two children - Wesley Sharp and his wife, Johanna, of Versailles and Patricia Sharp of Somerset, Ky.
