  • Gilkerson and Gilkison family reunion to be held

    The Gilkerson and Gilkison family reunion will be held Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall on Legion Road in Paris.
    Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.
    Reunion organizers ask that attendees bring a covered dish to share and soft drinks of their choice. Utensils, plates, napkins, lemonade and coffee will be furnished.
    “Bring your family tree information and anything you’d like to display for others to enjoy,” organizers said.

  • Todd qualifies to perform at state fair

    Keaton Todd, a 16-year-old junior at Anderson County High School, recently qualified to compete with a vocal acoustic performance in the 2013 Coca-Cola Talent Classic Semi-Finals competition at the Kentucky State Fair on Aug. 17, according to a news release.

  • Puckett to celebrate 90th birthday

    A reception is set to be held in honor of Ethel Robinson Puckett in celebration of her 90th birthday on Aug. 25 from 2-4 p.m. at the Anderson County park building.
    All friends and relatives are invited to come visit and join the celebration. Event organizers request no gifts.
     

  • Bryant marks 90 years with open house

    A celebration in honor of Elizabeth (Mrs. Willard) Bryant’s 90th birthday will be held Sept. 1 in the fellowship hall of the Lawrenceburg First Christian Church.
    Friends and well wishers may pay their respects from 2:30-4:30 p.m., event organizers said in a release, and cards and good wishes are also appreciated.

  • Wedding: Brown-Robinson

    Danielle Nicole Brown and Grant Taylor Robinson were married on June 22, 2013, on the back lawn of the bride’s parents, Debbie and Jason Denny. Jeff Eaton performed the ceremony.
    The bride is a graduate of Anderson County High School and is pursuing a career in the medical field.  The groom is a graduate of Anderson County High School and is in the Army National Guard. The groom is the son of Brenda and Ricky Robinson of Lawrenceburg.  
    The matron of honor was Amanda Gehringer and the best man was T.J. Walker.

  • Waldridge reunion held at Fairview

    The Waldridge family held their annual reunion at the Fairview Christian Church Fellowship Hall July 27, according to Claude Waldridge of Lawrenceburg.
    Waldridge said in a news release that there were 75 present for the meeting.

    Kelsey Lauren Young Richardson of Lexington and Patrick Michael Richardson of Lawrenceburg were married May 4, 2013, at the Rotunda at My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown.
    Will Briggs officiated the wedding, and the bride was given in marriage by her father, Berry Young.
    The bride’s parents are Berry and Barbie Young of Lawrenceburg. Her maternal grandparents are Raymond and Rachel Peak and her paternal grandparents are Larry and Georgia Young.

    Alison Von Bergen and Caleb Ryan Wells, both of Houston, Texas, were married May 18, 2013, at Saint Michael Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.
    Father Leon Strieder officiated the ceremony and the bride was given in marriage by her father, Clarence Von Bergen.
    Parents of the bride are Clarence and Leslie Von Bergen of Sherman, Texas. Parents of the groom are Stephen and Sherry Wells of Lawrenceburg. The groom’s grandparents are Sue Grafton and James R. and Rita Nowlin.
    The maid of honor was Beth Von Bergen, sister of the bride, of Houston, Texas.

  • Wedding: Ellis-Fannin

    Candice Angelica Ellis and Michael Lee Fannin, both of Lawrenceburg, were married June 8, 2013, at Ninevah Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.
    Terry Cooper officiated the wedding, and the bride was given in marriage by her father.
    The bride’s parents are David and Melody Farley of Lawrenceburg. The groom’s parents are Dwight and Debbie Fannin of Lawrenceburg and Leanne Snowden of Versailles.
    Grandparents of the bride are Donald D. Geach and the late Mary Ann Geach. Grandparents of the groom are the late Tommy and Irene Fannin.
