  • Chad and Amy Womack of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Alexandra Catherine Womack, on March 25, 2011 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.
    She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 18 inches long.
    Big brother Ryan, 2 ½, welcomed Alexandra home.
    Her maternal grandparents are Pete and Debbie Miller of Lawrenceburg.  Her maternal great-grandparents are Virginia Dinser of Covington and the late Harold Dinser, Bob and Catherine Franke, Long Island, N.Y., and the late Louis Miller.

  • John and Rhonda Cheak of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Alise Gabrielle Cheak, to David Blake Hudson, son of Noel and Theresa Hudson of Lawrenceburg.
    The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Anderson County High School and is currently employed by the Kentucky state government at the Office of Employment and Training in the division of Unemployment Insurance as a workforce development specialist.

  • Christy Ball of Lawrenceburg announces the engagement of her daughter, Ashley M. DeShazer, to Kendall R. Trent, son of Kenneth and Jackie Trent of Lawrenceburg.
    The bride-to-be’s grandparents are Bill and Barbara Morgan. The groom’s grandparents are James Henry and Geneva Mae Proctor, Imogene Flinchum and Henry Trent.
    The wedding will take place June 18, 2011, at Freedom Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m.
     

  • Rhonda and Teddy Peach of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Marie Peach, to Nathan Earl Morgan, son of Cathy Morgan Sloan and the late Henry Bruce Morgan of Lawrenceburg.
    The bride-to-be’s grandparents are Barbara Kuhn and the late Billy Noel and Brenda and Gerald Peach, all of Lawrenceburg.
    The groom’s grandparents are Earl McGaughey and the late Jane McGaughey and Henry and Joan Morgan, all of Utica.  
    The wedding will take place at 2 p.m. on July 2, 2011 at Alton Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.

    Teams are to have walkers on the walking path at all times during the event.

    May 18, 1961
    The Community Teen Center, sponsored by the Lawrenceburg Optimist Club, had grown to 170 young people, reported Mary Shely, chairman of the youth committee.
    The Center was open every day from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; Friday night from 7 to 11 p.m.; Saturday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 10:30 p.m. and on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.

  • Salt River Baptist plans yard,
    bake sale
    The Salt River Independent Baptist Church will hold a yard sale and bake sale June 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    All proceeds and donations will go toward carpeting the church.
    The church is located across from Wildcat Road in Stringtown, at 1126 Salt River Road, Lawrenceburg.

    Fox Creek Christian hosts VBS
    Fox Creek Christian Church will offer a “Pandamania” vacation Bible school, the church announced.

  • First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg is pleased to announce the hiring of its new children’s minister, Bryan Proctor, the church said in a news release.
    Proctor is a resident of Lawrenceburg, where he lives with his wife Stephanie and their two children.
    He currently serves as student pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and is pursing a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Clear Creek Bible College.
    Proctor will begin his new role as children’s minister in July.
