    Alton Baptist Church has recently called Ginger Barton to serve as the church’s minster to children.
    Barton is a graduate of Campbellsville University with a degree in Christian educational ministries and office management.

    Anderson Public Library offers free yoga class  
    The library will be offering a night of free yoga Sept. 26 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. All levels welcome. Mats are provided. Space is limited to 10 patrons per class.     Introduction to Microsoft Word Level II

  • The Anderson County High School Class of 1987 will hold its 25th high school reunion on Oct. 20 from 6-11 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Convention Center in Lawrenceburg.
    The reunion will include a dinner, served with music and “a walk down memory lane,” according to a release from event organizers.
    The dinner is $30 per person or $55 per couple. Money can be mailed to: Eagle Lake Convention Center, 1006 Eagle Lake Drive, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342, c/o Jenna Smith.
    Checks should be made payable to Anderson County High School Class of 1987.

  • The Anderson County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Anderson Public Library.
    This month’s speaker, Robert W. Myles, will discuss the Dogwalk battle and the efforts of the city of Lawrenceburg in staging its re-enactment. The meeting is free and open to the public.
     

  • The Bailey Family Reunion will be held Sunday, Oct. 7 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Franklin County Senior Citizens’ Center, located at 202 Medical Heights Drive, Frankfort (across from the hospital).     Sept. 27, 1962
    Charles Allen Perry, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Paul Perry of Chaplin, underwent the removal of wisdom teeth in St. Matthews.

    H.G. McRay showed in the jersey cattle division at the Alexandria Fair in Campbell County and came home with several awards.
