  • A community Thanksgiving service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Alton Baptist Church, the church announced in a news release.
    Lee Yates, associate minister at First Christian Church in Lawrenceburg, will be the speaker.
    Leading praise and worship will be worship coordinators Kris Grimes and Angie Woods of Alton Baptist.
     

  • Fellowship Baptist Church on Hammonds Creek Road will celebrate Thanksgiving with a potluck meal on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.
    “Immediately after the meal, we will celebrate the history and future of the church with a pictorial video highlighting many of the people who have played such a huge role in the life of Fellowship Baptist,” organizers said in a news release.
    The community is invited.

  • New Hope Baptist Church of Versailles will deliver meals to those in need on Thanksgiving day.
    Call the church at 859-873-1707, to get a home-cooked full Thanksgiving meal.
    The meal and delivery are free, the church announced in a news release.
    The meal will include turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. Dessert substitutions for those with diabetes are available on request.

  • The Salvisa Community Thanksgiving Service will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Salvisa United Methodist Church, 305 Main St. in Salvisa.
    The Rev. James Byrd of New Providence Presbyterian will preach.
    A reception will follow the service.
    An offering will be taken for the Mercer County Ministerial Association’s Transient Ministry Fund.

  • A prayer walk is planned to take place at Anderson County High School on the third Sunday of each month at 2 p.m.
    The next scheduled prayer walk is Sunday, Nov. 21.
    Walkers can meet at the front doors, and the walk will proceed through the school to pray for the high school students.

  • Salvisa Christian Church will host the gospel quartet, Blue No More at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21.
    Members of the group are Jerry Key, Barbara Mitchum, Ed Rudolph, and Veronica Brown.
    A reception will follow the concert.

  • Sherry Noon recently joined the ministry staff at Alton Baptist Church as the director of children’s ministry.

    A graduate of Georgetown College, Noon is also the children’s director for the Anderson Public Library.
