  • Shirley Cox of Lawrenceburg and James A. Monroe of Mt. Eden announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, David A. Monroe, to Robin Marie Brown, daughter of L.T. and Mary Sharp of Shelbyville.

    A wedding is planned for Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Eden Ruritan Club in Mt. Eden.

    All friends and relatives are invited.

  • Alma Gene and Danny Darnell recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a luncheon hosted by their family.

    They were married Sept. 1, 1960.

    Mrs. Darnell, the former Alma Moore, is a daughter of the late Clyde and Christine Moore of Lawrenceburg.

    Mr. Darnell is a son of the late J.C. and Velma Darnell of Lawrenceburg.

    The Darnells are farmers.

    They have two children, Christy Burke and her husband, Wayne, and Danette Warford and her husband, Kevin, both of Lawrenceburg.

    The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of Russ and Fran Williamson, the late Phyllis Williamson, and the late Clarice and Leon Thornberry, all of Lawrenceburg.

    She is a 2007 graduate of Auburn University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre performance.

  • Rachel and Casey Quisenberry of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their son, Max Patrick Quisenberry, on Aug. 3 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    He was welcomed home by a sister, Jenna, 3.

    His maternal grandparents are Mike and Becky Townsend of Lawrenceburg.

    His maternal great-grandmother is Louise Smock of Danville.

    His paternal grandparents are Vaughn and Sharon Quisenberry of Lawrenceburg.

    His paternal grandmother is Suzanne Rodriguez of Columbia, S.C.

    His paternal great-grandmother is Rosemary Terry of Aiken, S.C.
